Want to take your homemade burger game to the next level? Next time burgers are on the menu try these amazing Peanut Butter Burgers. Sweet peanut butter and salty bacon are super fun, super delicious toppings for a perfectly cooked hamburger patty.

I know it sounds a little strange, but the first time you try peanut butter on a hamburger you will be one hundred percent sold. Think peanut sauce on chicken at your favorite Thai food restaurant. I first had a “Jiffy Burger” at a bar my husband worked at in college, and I have been making our burgers like this ever since.
I’ve heard of this burger being called a Goober or Guber burger as well.
I personally like crispy bacon, red onion, and lettuce on my Peanut Butter Burger. Feel free to edit or add whatever you like. I've had these with swiss and cheddar cheese slices and tomato. The only hard and fast rule for making a burger recipe is to cook that patty perfectly to serve up a really juicy hamburger.

Make this recipe, because…
Creamy peanut butter melts into a perfectly gooey sauce for your burger.
Crisp, salty bacon is the perfect compliment to sweet peanut butter.
Fresh red onion adds a touch of crunch and spice.
Adding cold water to the ground beef makes for juicy burger patties.
Toasted sesame buns slathered with butter are the perfect way to sandwich all of these fun flavors together.
Ingredients

Creamy Peanut Butter- I always use a smooth no-stir peanut butter because it melts down perfectly to make the sauce. You can definitely try chunky peanut butter but be prepared for that texture.
Instructions
Step 1
- Add two tablespoons of cold water to ground beef and mix it in.
- Divide the meat into four even beef balls.
- Use your hands to shape balls into round patties roughly the size of your hamburger buns. Make sure that the patties are packed tight around the edges.
- Use your thumb to make a slight depression in the center of the patties.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Step 2
- Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Once the pan is hot, place the hamburger patties in the pan. Cook until the juices start to seep up through the top, then flip. (3-5 minutes per side)

Step 3
- While cooking on the second side, spread a generous spoonful of peanut butter onto the burger.

Step 4
- To assemble, place a leaf of lettuce and a few slices of red onion on the toasted, buttered bottom bun. Next, add the peanut butter burger patty. Then put on two slices of bacon and the top bun.
FAQs
You don’t need to add anything to the frying pan when you cook hamburger patties. There is plenty of fat in the ground beef. The fat will render with the heat of the pan and make its own frying oil.
Don’t use lean meat. 80/20 ground beef or ground chuck will give you a juicier burger. Extra fat may not be healthier, but it is the key to a moist patty. Avoid over cooking by using a thermometer to check the internal temperature of your patties while they cook.
Diana's Tips For Success
Let the patties sit out at room temperature for a few minutes before frying. Ice cold patties can take longer to cook through to the center and the outside can dry out before the inside is cooked.
Make a thumb sized impression in the center of the hamburger patty before cooking. The burger tends to thicken in the middle as it cooks. The flatter the patty stays the more evenly it will cook.
Don’t fiddle with the burgers as they are cooking. Lay them in the pan or on the grill grates and leave them until they are ready to flip.
Cook a big batch of bacon in the oven to put on your Peanut Butter Burgers. Cooking bacon in the oven saves time and mess on the stovetop.

Toast a batch of buns in the oven. Butter and keep warm in the oven along with the cooked bacon until your are ready to assemble the peanut butter hamburgers. A hot bun and is key to getting that amazing first bite.
