Instructions
  1. Pre-Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Melt Chocolate in boiling water.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar until fluffy.
  4. Separate eggs. Add egg yolks 1 at a time. Beat mixture well each time.
  5. Add melted chocolate and vanilla, and mix well.
  6. Sift together flour, salt, and flour, and slowly add to the wet ingredients.
  7. Beat egg whites on high until they are stiff. Gently fold into cake batter.
  8. Grease cake pans and line with wax paper. (Use one of your pans as a template and trace the bottom of the pan onto the wax paper three times, and use scissors to cut wax paper to fit the bottom of the pan.
  9. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
  10. Let cool and the frost the tops.
Coconut Pecan Frosting
  1. In a medium sauce pan, combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla.
  2. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened.
  3. Add coconut and pecans and stir until thick enough to spread.
