Hibiscus Orange Margarita Recipe (single serving)

  • 1 oz Tequila Resposado use a shot glass to measure and fill ¾ths of the way
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Orange Juice
  • 2 oz Hibiscus Orange Simple Syrup 1.5 shot glasses full.

Hibiscus Orange Margarita Recipe (pitcher)

  • ¾ Cup Tequila Resposado
  • ¾ Cup Lime Juice
  • ¾ Cup Orange Juice
  • 1.5 Cups Hibiscus Orange Simple Syrup (you will need to double your simple syrup recipe to make a pitcher)

Instructions

Hibiscus Orange Simple Syrup

  • Add sugar, water to a small sauce pan and heat on medium low. Add Orange zest while heating. Stir occasionally to help the sugar dissolve. Once the simple syrup comes to a simmer, turn the heat to low and add Hibiscus Flowers. Let simmer for 3 minutes. The Hibiscus flowers need to steep in the simple syrup like tea in order to infuse it with full flavor.
  • Once the syrup is fully combined and the flowers have steeped, strain into a mason jar and let cool.

Rim

  • Mix sugar, salt, and chili powder together on a small flat plate. Use pieces of the leftover juiced orange or a fresh orange wedge and rub it around the rim of an Old Fashion Glass. Dip the glass into the salt, sugar, chili powder .

Hibiscus Orange Margarita (single serving and pitcher)

  • Single Serving: Rim and Old fashion glass and fill with ice. Pour in 1 oz tequila reposado. Add fresh lime and orange juice. For a single serving you can juice the fruit as you go. For a pitcher, I would juice everything in advance to make sure you have enough. Add the Hibiscus Orange simple syrup. Serve without stirring to show off the beautiful layers.
  • Pitcher Recipe: Fill a pitcher with ice. Add tequila first, then lime juice, orange juice, and Hibiscus Orange simple syrup. Stir the pitcher. Rim your Old Fashion serving glasses in advance. Set out the pitcher and the rimmed glasses with a bowl of ice.
