Ingredients

Dry Roasted Almonds

  • 3 Cups Almonds raw, plain

Barbecue Almonds Seasoning

  • 2 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Sea Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Granulated Garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon Granulated Onion
  • 1 Teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon Brown Sugar
  • ½ Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • ¼ Teaspoon Cayenne Chili Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Oregano

Instructions

How to Dry Roast Almonds

  • Preheat your oven to 375°.
  • Spread whole almonds on a sheet pan so they are one layer deep.
  • Roast in the oven for 8 minutes. Then, remove almonds from the oven and toss. Return them to the oven and roast for 5-8 minutes more.

How to Season Roasted Almonds

  • Preheat your oven to 375°.
  • Spread whole almonds on a sheet pan so they are one layer deep.
  • Roast in the oven for 8 minutes.
  • Then, remove from the oven and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  • Next, add a drizzle of olive oil around the sides of the bowl and sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the top. Toss the almonds with a large spoon until all of the almonds have a coating of oil and seasoning.
  • Return to the sheet pan, and roast for 8 more minutes.

Air Fryer Method

  • Because an air fryer is just a small convection oven, it is the perfect place to roast a small batch of almonds.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°. Add the whole, raw almonds in a single layer to the air fryer basket. Cook for 3 minutes. Stir almonds or shake the basket. Repeat 3 more times.
  • Add seasoning and oil at the halfway point just like the oven method.

Notes

Why Roast Your Own Almonds?
Well money is the number one reason to roast your own almonds. It is a much better deal to buy bulk almonds and roast them yourself. The small bags for baking are priced really high, and the gas stationed snack packs are astronomically high.
Freshness is the other reason. Freshly roasted almonds have a great taste, and you can be sure your snacks or baking addons are the best they can be.
Storage
Place in airtight containers and store in a cool dry place for up to one month.
Store in the freezer for up to six months.
Diana’s Tips
Use small containers or food storage bags to create individual portions for easy grab-and-go snacks.
