Plan the Perfect Mother's Day Brunch; 17 Recipes that will Wow a Mother

Published: May 8, 2019 · Modified: Jun 11, 2020 by Diana Reis · This post may contain affiliate links

Mother’s Day is so special. A day where all mothers get to sleep in late, kick up their feet, and let everyone else in the house do the chores, and make brunch. I know my Mom readers are laughing a little. Sleep in late? Have you met my toddlers?

Hopefully, if you are a mother, someone will be doing something special for you. The one tradition that most people will be planning is Mother’s Day Brunch. Whether you are planning for your mother, grandmothers, mother of your children, or just a special mother figure in your life, planning a beautiful Mother’s day brunch is a nice way to show the women in your life you appreciate them.

Before we get all stressed out and destroy the kitchen on overly ambitious brunch plans, let me give you a few pointers and direct your towards some great Brunch Recipes me and my fellow food bloggers have come up with.

    What is Brunch?

Brunch is that special meal between breakfast and lunch where we get to eat all of the wonderful sweet breakfast dishes as well as some savory lunch type dishes at the same time, plus Cocktails!

Brunch is an informal meal, typically served as a buffet. Informal meals should be simple meals.

    How to Plan a Brunch?

    Plan A Make Ahead Brunch.

Planning a Brunch should be very easy and stress free. Like planning the meal for any party where you plan to enjoy the meal yourself, you should think about serving dishes that can be prepared ahead of time. The bulk of your menu can be either completely made or at least prepared for cooking the day before.

Here are a few make ahead recipes for Brunch.

Not every Brunch recipe can be made ahead.

Make sure the items that must be made the day of are really easy items that won't take the whole morning or make a huge mess.

    Mix Up Your Brunch Flavors.

Make sure that some of your recipes for brunch are sweet thing like quick breads and cakes. An egg dish is always satisfying, and then try to add something that is distinctly off the lunch menu.

Don’t Forget the Cocktails and Mocktails!

Mimosas are a brunch staple, but any of Mom’s favorite cocktails can be served as either a mix your own drink station or by the pitcher.

I’m passionate about the family dinner table. Connecting with each other at the end of the day over a good meal creates strong family bonds and healthy long-lasting relationships. I want to help families and friends build those relationships.
